Understanding Common Ag Wheel Types
Waffle Rim with Center
Typically mounted on a tractor’s front axle. This image shows the waffle center already bolted to the rim.
Double Bevel
Mounted mainly on the rear of 1995 & earlier Case IH Magnum and John Deere MFWD tractors.
Clamp/Loop with Center
Mounted on tractor front or rear axles.
Power Adjust
Fits 1995 and older rears for Deutz, Massey Ferguson, and Allis Chalmers.
Dolly Duals
OEM dual setup for most combines. They come standard with a 2-inch spacer for straddling the rows. For larger combines, consider using a straddle dual instead as it is a stronger wheel and is less prone to cracking issues.
Straddle Duals
Combine straddle duals use two bolt circles (instead of the one bolt circle on OEM duals) and have 10–12 inches of space between the wheels. Straddle duals are a stronger option for larger combine than the OEM dolly dual setup on most combines.
Stub Disc/Rim & Rail
A common wheel style. Called 55 Series on John Deere tractors. Also used in older New Holland and Case IH models. Still used for the inner rear wheels on John Deere, Fendt, and Agco. Used on some Rogators and John Deere 4940, 30, 20; 4045R & 4060R. Can be mounted on a tractor’s front axle.
Formed Plate
Can be a dual or inner wheel on Case and New Holland tractors. This style wheel is also used for combine rears.
Single Bevel
Single bevel wheels fit the same casting as double bevel. For tall narrower tires on old-style castings.
Tiger Wheels
Used on 4WD Versatile tractors today and older Ford, New Holland, and Steiger tractors.
Deep Well
Mainly used on older Farmall & Olivers.
Bubble Disc
Used on self-propelled sprayers, including New Holland, Case, and some John Deere models.
